Hands-on Space is dedicated to teaching kids and families about space and space exploration through EXCITING hands-on activities that provide memorable, lasting experiences!
Tied to National Science Education Standards as developed by the National Research Council and the National Academy of Sciences and endorsed by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). Target the Benchmarks for Science Literacy developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) under its Project2061 Initiative. Aligned to State Curriculum Frameworks to ensure that students are learning the specific content required of them.	Inquiry-based learning that stresses a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory approach to learning. We emphasize the development of investigative skills that help students learn to analyze and explain science concepts. We use hands-on activities and concrete objects to help create a memorable experience. An interactive question and answer style of communication. Pre- and post-visit activities to ensure that students get the most out of the learning experience. Take-home components that help children remember and re-live their experience.

	Deron Ash is an experienced space and astronomy educator who has taught thousands of students age 2 to 92!
	Background in educational and social psychology (Dartmouth College) and Space Studies (Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at UND)
	Education Director & Camp Director at the Imagine Nation Children's Museum in Bristol, CT (2002-2009)
